*Update: Due to Blake McDeezy being out of office the new gameplay trailer for Forgive Me My Henchmen was a little late in being uploaded. But he has just sent me the link so you can watch it now below. Enjoy!
Original article:
Indie developer Blake McDeezy with his development studio Eezy Street, developer of games such as 89 Doors & Shapes Are Mean, has revealed more information on his latest game called Forgive Me My Henchmen in the Dev Diary below.
In Forgive Me My Henchmen you play as the main villain in a Die Hard style action film and have to command your legion of henchmen to stop a John McLane-esque hero from storming the building in trade mark vest top and buy you enough time to “Get to the choppa!” and make your escape. You have to place henchmen and traps in order to stop the hero in sort of strategy/tower defence style gameplay. I’m kind of reminded of games like Lemmings watching this. If Lemmings were evil henchmen and instead of preventing them plummeting to their doom you’re trying to stop them from being riddled with 9mm Uzi bullets. Maybe these screenshots can explain it better than I can.
Blake is looking to fund the game via Kickstarter which will go live on 1 March 2018 and run until the 31st of the month. Stay tuned for more details on what funding is needed to bring his game to life, which he says is his passion project and certainly sounds interesting and something I would really like to play myself. For now here is some information on new mechanics Blake has introduced for the main villain in the game from his blog and the latest gameplay trailer for the game which you can watch below.
