Codemasters have today announced Dirt Rally 2.0, a sequel to their popular rally sim, will be coming to Xbox One, PS4 & PC on Tuesday 26 February 2019.  The announcement is accompanied by the game’s first trailer below along with the following information on the game’s features, editions of the game and post launch content.

Game Features

Dirt Rally 2.0 will iterate and evolve on the excellent original Dirt Rally game which was well received by fans and critics alike.  Dirt Rally 2.0 offers a more realistic, challenging, sim-based experience than the more arcade-like mainline Dirt series.  Think the difference in handling models between Forza Motorsport and Forza Horizon.  Personally I like both styles and have had a lot of fun with Dirt Rally and Dirt 4 their two most recent entries and enjoy the unique challenge each game brings.

Codemasters have also announced Dirt Rally 2.0 will feature 6 locations with multiple rally stages and 8 locations for the World Rally Cross Championships of which Dirt Rally 2.0 is the official game of WRX.  Players can expect to see a similar and expanded range of cars from current rally ad rally cross vehicles as well as classic cars from the history of the sport like the Ford Escort Mk II and the 1995 Suberu Impreza WRC cars.

Ross Gowing, Chief Games Designer, Codemasters had the following to say:

“We are thrilled to finally be able to talk about DiRT Rally 2.0.  Rally is incredibly important to Codemasters and the entire team is absolutely dedicated to creating the most authentic experience possible in a game.

“Our passionate, knowledgeable community helped to make DiRT Rally a special title. We have been working with a selection of that community alongside a roster of real world rally drivers to ensure that we meet their high standards,” continued Ross. “We are not afraid to make a challenging game. Driving a rally car down a stage is not easy and we want players to experience that same adrenaline rush from driving on the edge.”
