Get your weapons ready, put your traps down and let’s punch some goblins, ogres and trolls! Dungeon Defenders: Awakened is a remake of the first Dungeon Defenders game made and published by Chromatic Games. It’s a 4 player co-op rpg where you take up arms, alone or with friends, to save the World of Etheria.
You can play as a warrior, a sorcerer, a ranger or a monk. And together you defend the crystal from various enemies. My first thoughts about Dungeon Defenders: Awakened is that they remind me of the tower defence games back in the day, so I get a nostalgic feeling playing the game!
I have not played the games before this so this is the first time I played a Dungeon Defenders game but I really enjoyed it when I started! I have been playing alone and with a friend. I enjoyed both game modes. Playing alone is a tad bit harder than playing with a friend but it adds a whole new challenge to the game.
I personally played as a monk the first time, even though it’s not the easiest to play as the first time but I like to play supporting roles and the monk looked cool so I played him.
I played Dungeon Defenders: Awakened with a friend who has played this game before and a fan of the series. So he helped me explain a bit how the game works and it was fun to team up and use each other’s strengths to defeat the monsters in the game!
The sound and voice acting is very good! I like the voiceover, in the beginning, explaining the plot, it gets you really hyped to get into the game and go monster hunting.
Since it is still in early access there will probably be a lot added, but I hope you can talk more to the tavern staff in the future!
There is also a big portal-like disk on the wall in the tavern which I’m excited about. I also hope you can customise your character more! Of course, it’s not a must and wouldn’t impact the gameplay must but I think it would be a fun addition.
Overall I did enjoy playing it and can’t wait until more people get the game so we can get a full squad together!
