Exorder is a new release for the Nintendo Switch in the form of a turn-based fantasy strategy game, it is has been developed by solid9 studios and published by fat dog games. It throws you into a kingdom called Cerulean where the king has just passed and two siblings are preparing to battle for the right to take the crown and rule as the new king/queen.

It all begins as you take control of princess Beyla. You have to fight your brother Prince Tristan (a man with a very questionable haircut) once you have dealt with him your campaign begins, the battle with your brother and the first level after are basically your tutorial for the game. As new units unlock they do make sure you know about new abilities. There is info on each of them when you recruit new ones so don’t worry too much about having to remember all the unit info at the start.

As you work through the 12 mission single player campaign you will discover to are surrounded by enemies and allies on all sides. As you fight to protect your kingdom and prove your worth to hold the crown. Along side the campaign there is 8 challenge maps where you can improve your skills as a commander and learn how to make the most of each units abilities and special moves.

The gameplay is nice and simple though I did discover it is easier to make use of the touchscreen at times over the analogue sticks. Exorder has a clean cartoon style graphics and plays smoothly. You have a range of very different and unique units at your disposal as you progress through the game. The gameplay is easy to gets to grips with but Exorder is by no means easy. You will need to utilise the abilities of your warrior’s skills if you plan to survive (I would know I had to replay a few levels after I got my commander killed)

There is also a online multiplayer in the game as well where you can play cross platform and also a option to create private matches with your friends. The game has a lot of offer and will bring hours of fun, I know I have enjoyed playing it massively and can say I am happy to see this game has come to the switch.

I give Exorder by Solid9 a solid 8/10

Till next time guys happy questing and keep Cerulean safe!
