The PS Plus games for July 2019 have been announced and …well, it ain’t great. In fact, it is pretty bloody poor, to be honest.

First up, and without a doubt, the biggest game of the month is none other than PES 2019. Yep PES 2019 which to be fair while a decent game. Will already have been bought by anyone with an interest in it.

Now, don’t get me wrong I am not knocking PES 2019 but PS Plus is at its best when it offers up brilliant games that subscribers have yet to try out. That doesn’t mean AAA titles but last month offer of Borderlands: The Handsome Collection brought a much loved and hyped franchise to a multitude of new players.

PES 2019 on the other hand, whilst a massive game, has a pretty much niche following. I just can’t see that many people giving it a go. You either rush out and buy PES or FIFA on release. Or pick it up cheap at the end of the year from CEX.

As a PS Plus offering. It just doesn’t cut it

Next up for July’s PS Plus is Horizon Chase Turbo. I game I admit I have never heard of but, which isn’t a bad thing, although this time it might be.

The marketing blurb for Horizon Chase Turbo says it is inspired by arcade classics such as OutRun, Lotus Turbo Challenge etc.

That’s all sounds great but the reality is the Horizon Chase Turbo looks like a cheap mobile game. So much so that a quick google search showed, in fact, it is a mobile game.

So we have a Football game that anyone interested in has already got and a port of a cheap mobile racer…Let’s hope August is a cracking month eh

How do you feel about July’s PS Plus? Are you happy to get PES 2019 or looking forward to Horizon Chase Turbo? As always let us know what you think in the comment section below.
