Pinball FX3 the massively popular pay per table pinball platform has just released its latest triple pack of tables all focused on the massively popular Jurassic park franchise.
Those of you not familiar with Pinball FX3 may know it by its previous name of Zen Pinball. For those of you who still don’t know, I shall give a brief explanation.
The Pinball FX3 platform is free to download and the tables are free to demo. You then purchase the tables you want and ignore the ones you don’t. It is as simple as that. Currently, there are 73 tables based on multiple franchises such as Marvel, Universal Studios, Star Wars etc. on offer and personally, I own 25 of them so it is highly addictive and great value for money.
The recently released Jurassic Park bundle currently cost £7.99 and includes 3 tables – Jurassic World, Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park Pinball Mayhem. Each Table has it own design, features, targets and trophies.
£7.99 may seem expensive for just 3 tables but the hours of gameplay you are gonna get out of them just in single player mode alone makes it unbelievable value for money. Each table comes with a 1 ball challenge, 5-minute challenge and survival challenge as well as the classic single-player mode 3 ball mode. Throw into the mix hot seat multiplayer as well as friends and global leaderboards and you have hours and hours of gameplay on just one table let alone 3.
So let’s look at the tables:
Jurassic World Pinball
This is without a doubt my favourite of the three tables. It is a modern table with great interaction and well-placed ramps and drop target. The lanes are well lit, the movie dialogue is on point and hits just at the right times.
The table is challenging but fun and immersive, the use of dinosaurs on the table had to the game rather than distract your attention from the everything seems to be in just the right place and spaced out properly to enjoy a really good game of pinball.
Also the option to put the missions in movie order or selective is a great touch. If you are a fan of Jurassic World then I cant recommend this table enough.
Jurassic Park Pinball
It is a testament to Zen Pinball that they put so much thought and effort into designing each table but this one just falls flat for me. I’m not a fan of the retro style, twin orbital style of pinball tables. I find them a bit bland and lacking immersion.
That said I can see the appeal of this table to many a pinball fan and whilst I didn’t enjoy it myself I can see many a comment below this article telling me why I’m wrong and they would be right.
The colours are visually stunning on the table, the combo ramps are nicely placed and it is a good free flowing table. I’m not saying it is a bad table but as I said in the video at the top of this article it wasn’t for me.
Jurassic Park Pinball Mayhem
This table is a little different from the others, this seems to have a sense of all-out fun and pinball madness to it. I will admit my Jurassic park knowledge may be flawed as it has been a while since I saw the original trilogy but I don’t remember any of this in the films and that is perfectly fine.
This table is a high paced, mental score fest. the over the top general, the easy to attain multiball and the Stegosaurus helping you out just makes this a really really fun game to play.
I haven’t quite fully explored this table yet but I feel there is more to it than I have uncovered at the moment and I can’t wait to unlock all its secrets.
Overall Score – 8/10
These are three great tables and represent fantastic value for money compared to the hours of gameplay you will get out of them. The Pinball FX3 platform is a great way to indulge your pinball gaming needs whilst avoiding the tables you don’t want and I cant recommend this Jurassic Park triple pack enough.
