The festive season is upon us and with that comes lots of parties. What could be better than the brand new Let’s Sing 2019 to get your party swinging? Quite simply a lot of things!
Now to be fair this is my first time playing a karaoke game. I loved the Rock Band and Guitar Hero series on PS3 and naievley expected something similar here.
What Let’s Sing 2019 actually does is take the tried and tested social activity of Karaoke and
One plus side to Let’s sing 2019 is that it is accessible to all. Gone are the days of needing a pair of ridiculously expensive USB mics. Now all you need is to download a free app to your smartphone and you are off and away.
The game mechanics are quite simple in Let’s Sing 2019. You pick your song from the list of 30 tracks, sing along to the words as they scroll across the screen and make sure you hit the right notes. Simple. But so so wrong.

Be giving points for hitting the right notes you quickly lose the fun of karaoke and suddenly focus too much on hitting the right note and achieving records that you forget to actually enjoy the song your singing.
Let’s Sing 2019 does actually come with various game modes. First up is
Finally there is feat. mode which allows you to duet with a partner and test your “compatibility” as a singing duet. In all honesty I am not sure how this works as me and my partner tried this mode whilst sober and again whilst drunk and never got above 1%. Take from that what you will.
All in all I was looking forward to a good old fashioned sing song and what we got in return was karaoke gamified to the point that there was no fun left in it.
