The size of Red Dead Redemption 2 has been revealed. The news comes via the box for the PS4 Pro Red Dead Redemption 2 bundle which states on the back that the game will require a whopping 105gb to install. This is the minimum requirement to play the game and will go up when the online portion of the game arrives some time after launch. Red Dead Online will have an open beta in November for both Xbox One and PS4 and will be fully released at a later date, I would hazard a guess some time in December so they can get it out over the Christmas period.
With the 105gb install for disc owners the maximum capacity of a Blu-ray is 50gb. So unless they are shipping the game on 2 discs you will be looking at a minimum of 55gb to download on launch day. Digital pre-orders will most likely get the game to download in advance of release but even so, it’s a hefty amount of hard drive space so it’s good this information has came out to give people time to prepare.
Other news gathered from the box information is that Red Dead Online will support up to 32 player lobbies, a increase of 2 over GTA Online’s 30 player count. PS4 will also get 30 days of timed exclusivity on some add-on content for Red Dead Online as well as the already announced exclusive single player DLC for the PS4 version of Red Dead Redemption 2.
