Back in the before fore times. Long before national lockdowns and global pandemics. At what feels like the beginning of recorded history, but is in fact just May 2018. I reviewed a fantastic little gem of a game called RPGolf. I instantly fell in love with this beautiful little game from Articnet and have been singing its praises to anyone who will listen ever since.
Since 2018 I have stayed in constant touch with the developer of RPGolf as he works on his new title RPGolf Legends. To say I have been getting excited by what is to come is an understatement. Now we have a brand spanking new trailer courtesy of Kemco showcasing RPGolf Legends at the Tokyo Gameshow.
Now, normally a sequel is an incredibly difficult thing to succeed at. Musicians struggle with the “tricky second album”, Movie sequels generally follow the rule of diminishing returns. The difficulty is giving your fans more of what they like whilst also introducing something new. RPGolf Legends looks to have hit this balance fantastically. I say “looks to” because I haven’t got hands with RPGolf Legends…yet.
Discussing the development of RPGolf Legends with Lead Developer Riccardo over the last couple of years I can confidently say that Articnet has walked this tightrope perfectly. Instead of the 9 hole golf course in RPGolf (which you then play mirrored), RPGolf Legends boats 54 holes across six unique environments!
Also new to RPGolf Legends is an open world with side quests, towns, npc’s, and a spirit guide. Oh, and you are not just a golfer this time round. RPGolf Legends also boasts a class system so you can be a mage, warrior etc. The amount of content. is so unreal that it makes its predecessor RPGolf look like a tech demo.
Another upgrade on the original, which was released on PC and mobile, RPGolf Legends will be released on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
You can check out our interview with Riccardo back in May 2020, where he goes into more detail about RPGolf Legends features and development below:
In that interview, Riccardo does state that RPGolf 2 ( the games name at the time) was due for release in October 2020. Almost two years later I am still sat here waiting for RPGolf Legends to come out so I hope you can understand my excitement.
RPGolf is available on steam for just £2.89 Andriod and ios for £2.99 it is such a great game and at that price you have no excuse not to give it a go.
