It’s been an amazing opening week for Sea of Thieves as it’s achieved top spot in the UK’s games chart, and has done that on boxed sales alone.
Sea of Thieves is a shared world action-adventure game in which the gamer takes control of a pirate, allowing you to sail the seas as a crew or on your own.
A Way Out has sailed into the chart at 2nd place, with Stoffel Presents giving us a preview on the game before release as well with Assassin’s Creed Rogue Remastered.
A title that surprises me… but also doesn’t surprise me is Grand Theft Auto 5 in the top 10. This game was initially released in 2013 but has been remastered for later generations of console
The top ten list goes as follows:
1. Sea of Thieves
2. A Way Out
3. Ni No Kuni 2
4. Assassin’s Creed Rogue Remastered
5. FIFA 18
6. Burnout Paradise Remastered
7. Grand Theft Auto 5
8. EA Sports UFC 3
9. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
10. Super Mario Odyssey

Great stuff I’m glad to see Sea Of Thieves is successful so far. Interesting too because this chart represents boxed sales. I wonder how it has done digitally as it is available as part of Xbox Game Pass.
Good to see A Way Out & Ni No Kuni 2 doing well. I’ve noticed a shift where these type of games are selling a lot better than they have in years gone by which is great to see and hopefully means they’ve had better marketing but also there’s a bigger audience for them. It’s great to see diversity in gaming so long may it continue.
But em, Super Mario Oranges Michael? Lol
