Sega have turned heads on Twitter after releasing a teaser for a suspected new Sonic racing game.
The video, seen on Sonic the Hedgehog’s official Twitter page, is 22 seconds long and shows snippets of a car in black and white. In the 12th second of the video, a logo appears that can’t be seen and as the logo comes further to the screen, a red R appears, triggering the racing game connection.
Rumours were fuelled further by Zappies, the official toymaker for Sonic products, as they confirmed they were working on a new line of toys for the unconfirmed racing game, with the toys set for release this year.
The last Sonic racing game was released in 2012, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. The game received very positive reviews, with an impressive Metacritic score of 82/100. The Sonic racing franchise has been popular among the gaming fans, which could prove there is a need for a new game, hence the release of the teaser.
With the reveal on Twitter and all the speculation through social media, I’m sure we can expect an announcement soon… and Stoffel Presents will be there to keep you up to date. Are you excited for a reveal? Do you want a new Sonic Racing game? Let us know here at Stoffel Presents.
