Yes I cannot believe I am typing this either but yes but the much beloved time travelling series Timesplitters is set to come back! Koch Media have acquired the IP and the new game will be developed by Deep Silver Dambuster which is part of the Koch Media family and the studio formerly known as Free Radical Design, the original creators of the Timesplitters series!

The agreement sees Koch Media as the new owners of the intellectual property and all future titles will be published by their games publishing label, Deep Silver. The Timesplitters trilogy was released on PS2, Xbox & Gamecube in the early 2000s and was widely seen as one of the most influential console games of it’s time following hot on the heels of Halo: Combat Evolved and 007 Goldeneye, Timespliters was similarly very influential in it’s design and paved the way for first person shooters to be one of the biggest genres in gaming today. The game’s unique art style, humour and references to pop culture lead to it receiving a massive and passionate fan base as well as critical acclaim. “We are hugely excited to have acquired Timesplitters” commented Klemens Kundratitz, CEO Koch Media GmbH “The original games gave fans a massive content offer and provided a pure and genuinely fun arcade shooter experience. We have many fans of the Timesplitters series among our own staff who are passionate about creating a product that will thrill todays gaming audience.”
Koch Media have also acquired the rights to Free Radical Design’s other IP Second Sight which released in 2004 and had players play as a American parapsychology researcher undertaking missions together with the US Marine Corps and involved a mix of action and stealth gameplay. Future Second Sight titles will also be published by Deep Silver. At the time of writing that’s all I know but with Gamescom 2018 less than a week away and Deep Silver confirmed to be attending makes me hopeful a new Timesplitters or Second Sight game may be unveiled imminently. We will find out so stay tuned to Stoffel Presents as we bring you all the big gaming news from Cologne at Gamescom 2018 next week!
